EZULWINI – The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) continues to further capacitate young Emaswati they view as outstanding. 10 more young leaders Eswatini will join the cadre of Emaswati who have positively influenced the country since the inception of the programme in 2014.
The 10 young leaders who will be part of the 2022 class of YALI Fellows were announced today by the US Embassy Eswatini. They include Gcebile Matsebula, Stanley Maphosa, Lwandle Simelane, Taka Mngomezulu, and Mbongiseni Magwaza.
According to the U.S. Embassy Eswatini, “These outstanding young leaders will begin their Fellowship together with nearly 700 other young African leaders for a six-week program at a variety of prestigious U.S. universities including: Rutgers University, University of Georgia, Clark Atlanta University, Northwestern University, Arizona State University, Indiana University (Bloomington), Wayne State University, University of Iowa and Syracuse University.”
“The Fellowship concludes with a two day YALI Summit that connects all Fellows at the end of the program. On Tuesday May 3, the Fellows met with U.S. Ambassador Jeanne Maloney and Public Affairs Officer Stephanie Sandoval where they received additional information about the Fellowship program and posed questions to embassy officials. Ambassador Maloney congratulated the Fellows on their successful selection and in joining the program this year.We wish them all the best during their program in the U.S.” revealed the U.S. through their official social media platforms.
