MBABANE – The highly anticipated ‘Mayham Mixtape’ is finally out!

The ‘Mayham Mixtape Volume I’ is a six-track album featuring 14 of Eswatini’s greatest Hip Hop artists.

The collaborative project features Sarnilo, Qibho Intalektual, Lution, Kena, Ayzee, Grixxly, Laro Tha Bambino, Bluujay, CheiStar, Yellow Bud, and Louis Layne, amongst others.

The Project manager of the MAYHAM Mixtape, Mzwandile ‘Lution’ Nxumalo, said the project happened out of a shared spirit of creativity to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop.

“The goal of The MAYHAM Mixtape Vol I was to showcase the talent and creativity of the best rappers and producers in the Kingdom of Eswatini. It aimed to bring together these artists to create a collaborative body of work that represents the vibrant Hip Hop culture in the country,” said Lution.

The songs in the mixtape were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Kingdom XLR, produced by Chaboy, Alex Muti, Grixxly, and Zodivac from Ghana, among others, and the whole project was executive produced by Steven Mthethwa, Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini, and Munya Chanetsa.

“Fans can expect a dynamic and diverse project from The MAYHAM Mixtape. With the collaboration of some of the best rappers and producers in Eswatini, they can anticipate a mix of different styles, flows, and beats. The project will showcase the unique voices and perspectives of each artist, resulting in a collection of tracks that are both engaging and thought-provoking,” added Lution.

Lution further urged fans who love the Hip Hop culture and local music scene to show love and support by actively listening to the mixtape and sharing it with their friends and networks.

“Hip Hop lovers can also show support to the project by attending live performances and events featuring the artists from the mixtape, showing their support by buying tickets and merchandise. Additionally, fans can follow the artists on social media, stream their individual tracks, and provide feedback and positive reviews to help promote their work. By actively participating in the project’s promotion and supporting the artists involved, fans can contribute to the success and growth of The MAYHAM Mixtape,” said Lution. The ‘Mayham Mixtape’ was recorded at Legends Backpackers, where the artists had a retreat to discuss the music industry earlier this year. It is now available on all digital music streaming platforms.
