According to EBC Communications Officer Mbonisi Bhembe, on 26 August polling stations across the country will be opened early in the morning until late, to allow voters to exercise their constitutional right to cast their votes.

Bhembe stated that voters will find posters of the nominated candidates already plagued in each station.
Bhembe explained that a person who wants to check or verify if the transfer process was successful can check with MTN by dialling *411#.

“Registered voters can check if their voting transfer has been successful by simply dialling *411# before 26 August,” he said. On another note, Bhembe explained that not all the candidates that were nominated will be running in the elections. some of these have since been disqualified after they could not meet the required standards.

Bhembe disclosed that 27 candidates have been disqualified following a vetting process conducted by EBC.

“This is an unfortunate turn of events for these candidates, but the election process must ensure that only qualified candidates run,” Bhembe stated.
