MBABANE – Ready to work!
World Vision Eswatini, in collaboration with the Sebenta National Institute, recently celebrated the graduation of 17 young individuals from the Mhlangatane Area Programme.
According to World Vision 17 young men and women that were enrolled for a 6-month vocational skills training were officially certificated. All the fees were covered by World Vision.
The graduates, originating from nine communities, the communities were Mpofu, Sdvwashini, Nyakatfo, Mangweni, Zinyane, Ndvwabangeni, Mavula, Malibeni, and Nhlangayavuka.
Under the guidance of World Vision Eswatini’s Livelihood technical programme, 10 female participants specialized in sewing, while 7 male graduates acquired skills in electrical wiring.
The graduation ceremony, hosted at Ekujabuleni Holiness Primary School, featured inspiring stories of determination and ambition. Zodwa Masuku, a sewing graduate, emphasized the transformative impact of the training.
“There’s nothing as satisfying as being able to provide for your family’s needs. With my sewing skills, I will be able to meet my husband halfway in guaranteeing that our children have enough food.” Said Masuku.
The ceremony showcased the diverse talents of the graduates, with events such as fashion parades and gallery walks. All 17 students received full support from World Vision Eswatini, reflecting the organization’s commitment to empowering individuals to become self-sufficient contributors to their communities.
As these graduates enter a new phase in their lives, armed with valuable skills, the positive impact of this vocational training is expected to contribute to the economic and social well-being of the Mhlangatane communities.
