18 COMPANIES TO SUPPLY KELLOGG

MBABANE – An amount of E494 million is expected to be invested in setting up 18 companies in the country, which will supply Kellogg Tolaram Eswatini, among other things.

This is contained in a report of Eswatini Investment Promotions Authority (EIPA), which details plans of the organisation to improve Eswatini as an investment destination of choice in 2024 and beyond. The suppliers are expected to create 5 000 jobs and 60 indirect jobs.

Kellogg Tolaram Eswatini (Pty) Ltd is a company that produces corn flakes, among other things and it is situated in Matsapha. This company was officially opened last year by His Majesty King Mswati III and it was reported to have created 200 direct jobs, with an amount of E250 million being invested towards the opening of this company.

The companies to supply Kellogg include Elangeni Milling. According to the EIPA report, Elangeni Milling is the third flour mill company in Eswatini to produce flour for Kellogg. The company is set to employ 150 people. Other products to be produced by this company include mix fowl feed and bran for dairy.

Nurscon Flexibles Eswatini (Pty) Ltd is another company that is set to supply Kellogg. This company is to manufacture wrapping/packaging materials for Kellogg and the company is expected to employ approximately 60 people.

There is another company known as Paper Tech, which is supposed to produce corrugated iron for Kellogg and other companies in Eswatini, employing 30 people in the process. EIPA is also preparing other 15 companies that will play a vital role in supplying Kellogg.

The companies will include accounting and auditing companies, five cargo transporters, security, catering and cleaning companies. Other companies included deal with staff transportation, courier services, coal supplying, maintenance and landscaping. Other companies are in waste collection and management and ICT support services.

Another company that is expected to operate in the country is Lush Haircare Eswatini. This company is not expected to supply Kellogg with anything, but it is related to the Matsapha based company. Lush Haircare a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tolaram Group and it is expected to employ 1 000 people.
