MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows Coach Caleb Ngwenya was not blown away by the 3-2 win over rivals Mbabane Highlanders as they stretched their lead at top of the table with five points.
He said they still had two final matches in their remaining fixtures whereby they face Ezulwini United and then Young Buffaloes in their last match of the season. Ngwenya said he was going to tell his players that they still had a long way to go before they can start celebrating winning the title.
Mbabane Swallows face Ezulwini United next and they will play Young Buffaloes in their last encounter.
Ngwenya said he was not bothered by other team’s results after being made aware that Green Mamba was defeated 2-1 by Nsingizini Hotspurs, making them to take a five point lead at the top of the table.
“I have always been saying, out important game is the next. That is where out focus should be. We started very well and after scoring two goals we took the foot off the pedal and that was not good. After scoring the two goals, we needed to control the match. My players showed character by coming back strong in the second half and winning the match. They showed strong character,” he said.
Ngwenya said their focus was on them and they do all their best prepare well for the coming fixtures.
Swallows are yet to win silverware this season after losing out in three finals being the MoMo Cup, PLE Trade Fair Cup and the Ingwenyama Cup.
