MBABANE – Following the brutal murder of a female police officer by unknown assailants this weekend, the Government has issued a statement on the matter:

“Government condemns in the strongest terms possible the obvious acts and activities terror and brutality which some forces of darkness are continously meting out against the country’s security service women and men. There’s no need for the politics of gun and bullet powder in a peaceful and open democracy such as ours in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The future of this country is guaranteed by the tinkhundla democratic governance and not by people or systems that has adopted violence and intimidation as a central source of their political philosophy and ideology. Emaswati should see these people for who they really are – bloody thirsty antagonists who intend to shoot and kill their own way to power. They have no room for political engagement, discretion and persuasion in their pursuits.

Government express condolences to all the uniformed officers whose lives has been terminated by enemies of life itself as a gift for which everyone received from their creator and sustainer God Almighty. May their loss be an inspiration to all and sundry that they are indeed, our heroes not only because they died on duty but also for the fact that they died in defense of a noble cause which is the protection of the citizens and the state itself. May their souls rest in eternal peace.
