According to the Ministry of Labour, the meeting served as a platform for the institutions to collaborate and ensure a successful and impactful event for prospective students and job seekers.

Ministry of Labour and Social Security Principal Secretary (PS) Makhosini Mndawe expressed gratitude for the support pledged by the institutions for the upcoming career expo. He underscored the importance of the event as a platform for information sharing, which would provide insights into available career opportunities and the vocational training options offered by the institutions, addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment.

Mndawe stated that the Expo’s success hinges on the cooperation of all participating institutions, as this would guarantee that youth from across the regions have access to a diverse selection of vocational skills centres, colleges, and universities. Through active engagement and meaningful participation, he explained, the event will achieve its goal of empowering youth and transforming their lives through vocational and educational opportunities.

He emphasised the vital role that entrepreneurial skills play in driving innovation, business growth, and competitiveness for economic growth. He highlighted the central message of this year’s Expo, encapsulated in the theme, ‘Right Career Choice and Right Timing makes it Correct for Sustainable Employability.’ This, he explained, underscores the importance of strategic career choices and timely actions in securing sustainable employment opportunities.
