MBABANE– EmaSwati have been presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) has presented an internship program which will accommodate 43 people in different sectors. EmaSwati qualify for the internship programme.
According to an invitation statement that was sent by Geneva Ambassador Vuyile Dlamini, the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Geneva kindly informs emaSwati about the first round of the ILO Internship Program for the year 2023.
“The Program has 43 different Internship profiles and interested individuals can apply on the following platform by May 17, 2023.
The ILO international office also confirmed this, saying they were pleased to inform emaSwati that the ILO internship program for the year 2023 has been officially launched.
“The objective of the internship programme is to provide talented individuals with the opportunity to gain practical experience at the ILO,” said the ILO office.
According to Wikipedia, the International Labour Organization (ILO) is a United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social and economic justice by setting international labour standards. Founded in October 1919 under the League of Nations, it is the first and oldest specialised agency of the UN. The ILO has 187 member states: 186 out of 193 UN member states plus the Cook Islands. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with around 40 field offices around the world, and employs some 3 381 staff across 107 nations, of whom 1 698 work in technical cooperation programmes and projects.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Communications Officer Sikhumbuzo Bhembe always emphasises that the Ministry was on a mission to empower emaSwati and they were partnering with different entities which would offer emaSwati jobs and education opportunities.
