MBABANE – Following the fuel shortage that has grounded hundreds of vehicles in the Kingdom of Eswatini, there are now positive news that a slew of 50 trucks are on their way to the country.
This has been announced through a WhatsApp post by Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer E. Nathi Dlamini – who has been updating the business community on fuel issues since the unrest subsided. Dlamini this morning assured the business community that as from today morning (Tuesday), some of the fuel tankers have been diverted from South Africa and were on their way to Mozambique Port to make deliveries in the country.
“Dont fret – we got you covered,” the CEO wrote.
“I bear good news. Help in on the way folks. Don’t lose hope. Be patient. As of right now, Tuesday morning, a slew of 50 trucks – some of which have been diverted from SA, are snaking their way into the Mozambique Port to bring us back fuel,” he posted.
Dlamini further warned Emaswati to avoid the MR3 Lomahasha highway as it is congested.
The announcement of the arrival of petrol come at a time when when Southern Star Company had announced yesterday that it was temporarily suspending transportation of fuel to the country following the ongoing volatile situation on the Durban route.
The announcement by BE CEO has however brought hope to motorists in the country that the situation would be normal.
