This is the overwhelming spirit at Somhlolo National Stadium today, where over one hundred thousand Emaswati have already filled up the stadium for the country’s 55/55 Celebrations: Celebrating 55 Years of Independence and the 55th Birthday of His Majesty King Mswati III. Emaswati have come from all over the country and from all corners of society.
Her Majesty the Indlovukazi joined in for the celebrations at around 11AM.
Also supporting Emaswati in this momentous historical occasion are visitors from all over the world, including President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Her Excellency Tsai Ing-wen, His Majesty King Letsie III of Lesotho, and former President of the Republic of South Africa, Jacob Zuma among others.
So far, the entertainment has included traditional dances and band drills by the armed forces.
His Majesty King Mswati III is expected to join the arena any time now, for the special celebrations which will go on until late.
