MBABANE – Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has provided toolkits worth E84 000 to eight outstanding graduates of Gwamile Vocational Training Centre (VOCTIM).
Acting General Manager at EEC Vusi Gama, has urged the graduates to not only utilize the tools for their personal growth but also to contribute to youth employment.
“We are delighted through this support that we have empowered young people who just recently graduated and are starting out on their entrepreneurship journey. I am hoping that the toolkits that we are going to give today you are not going to take them and put them aside and go look for employment. Please trust me, take these toolkits and go and use them, you will definitely remember this day,” encouraged Gama.
The recipients expressed their gratitude, emphasizing the transformative impact these tools would have on their lives and their commitment to leveraging the equipment to uplift not only themselves but also help create jobs for others.
The best-performing graduates highlighted the potential of the toolkits in enhancing their entrepreneurial ventures and honing their skills. The young entrepreneurs affirmed their determination to make the most of what they now possess.
“We have been getting tools bit by bit because we really wanted to fill our toolbox. From the tools we have been given by EEC, we will be able to start and finish our work,” shared one of the grateful graduates.
Another recipient expressed excitement about the opportunities the toolkit provided, “With the laptop I have received, I will be able to create CVs, letters, and help others. With the laminating machine, I will be able to assist people back home, like laminating their certificates and other important documents,” she said.
The Principal of Gwamile VOCTIM Buyisile Dludlu, commended EEC for their invaluable support, aligning the initiative with the government’s commitment to fostering self-employment among young people.
