9 SCHOOLS FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS DANCE COMPETITION

MBABANE – The Special Olympics Eswatini is giving every liSwati living with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to play or be part of sports.

The non profit organisation will hosts the third edition of a free style dance competition at Zakhele Hall on Wednesday (June 12), starting at 9:30am with the nation invited to come in their numbers for support.

The nine schools include School for the deaf, St. Josephs Primary, Ekwetsembeni Primary, Nthuthukweni Primary, Qinisweni Primary, Mbashemi Anglican Primary, Balance for Life Centre, Ekululameni Skills Centre and Ntondozi Community.

Special Olympics Eswatini spokesperson Ntombi Nkambule said they want to promote social inclusion with the event.
“We are also expecting some individuals who have registered to take part in the competition.

The aim of the dance competition is to enable athletes to show their abilities and talents and also open hearts and minds towards people with intellectual disabilities. We also want to promote Social inclusion.

We will be having a group of dancers that includes people with intellectual disabilities, without intellectual disabilities and also physical disabilities,” she said.

Schools participating include:

  4. Ntuthukweni Primary School
  5. Qinisweni primary school
  6. Mbasheni Anglican primary
  7. Balance for life centre
  8. Ekululameni skills centre
