MBABANE – To ensure quality performance, Civil servants will now have name tags bearing their names and numbers.

This was revealed by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini yesterday (Wednesday, May 22, 2024) at Sibane Sami Hotel in Ezulwini when he met members of the House of Assembly Portfolio Committee on the office of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister said all civil servants who worked with the public would wear tags that had their names and numbers. This, he said, will help the public easily identify a public servant who either mistreated the public or refuses to do work.

The premier explained that civil servants who will be reported for bad treatment will be dealt with accordingly to relevant ethics.

Dlamini said there are reports that some civil servants abused their position of power.

“The public should know that they are in charge, not civil servants,” said the prime minister.

He further emphasised that the public should not beg for services. “When the public go for services from government offices, they should be treated well and get the help they need,” the prime minister said.
