MBABANE – The Woman Farmer Foundation (WFF) will, this Thursday, extend the empowerment of Woman and Female Youth Farmers by awarding them for their excellence.
This follows as the Woman Farmer of the Year 2023 Award Ceremony is all set to be held this Thursday, November 16, at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo.
The Award Ceremony wll celebrate the accomplishments of the incredible women and youth agriprineurs who have worked diligently to come this far in the competition, according to WFF Communications Officer, Mpumalanga Zwane.
The top 10 farmers in the competition, in no particular order, are:
Phumzile Nxumalo Hadebe (Vegetables, strawberry, sweet potatoes, beans, maize, fruits)
Ntombizodwa Mavimbela-Masuku (Beams, indeginous chickens, layers, cows, maize)
Lomathemba Methula-Khathwane (Broilers, vegetables)
Phetsile Dlamini-Mamba (Maize, layers, legumes, fruit trees, indeginous chickens)
Tiletsile Mdziniso-Mkhatshwa (fruit trees, layers, broilers, vegetables)
Nurse Shabangu-Dlamini (peanuts, beans, tea, sweet potato, mathapha, vegetables, orchard)
Gugu Mndzebele-Shongwe (vegetables, goats, indegenous chickens, maize, beans, sweet potato, cassava, banana, avocado trees, nursery)
Nokuthula Mkhabela-Matsebula (goats, indegenous chickes, rabbits, bees)
Florence Siphiwe Vilakati-Mkhatshwa (vegetables, trees)
Khetsi Vilakati-Maziya (vegetables)
The invited Guest Speaker for the competition is the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Sydney Simelane.
