As COVID-19 had imposed restrictions on him similarly with everyone else, the local DJ expressed his emotions towards the event, saying that he was excited and had been in the music industry since 2018 so this would be something huge for him.

When asked why the South African duo had been chosen for this particular occasion, he revealed that he had been working with different DJs in South Africa so he felt it would be fitting to start this celebration off with Amaroto.

“We chose Amaroto because we have been doing duos since 2018. We have had Major League DJs in 2018 and Black Motion in 2019. In 2020 and 2021, COVID-19 disturbed us, but we are back with Amaroto in 2022.

“We obviously can’t predict the number of people who will be coming but we pray and hope that we have a good turn out,” said the DJ and event organiser.

The event line-up is set to include the likes of the Trend twins, Genes of the vibe, Matamza, Mdura, Vavi, Teesto, Bisto, Tempo, Snypper, Proness and Njebza who will be performing alongside Amaroto.

Amoroto is a South African duo that consists of ‘Reece Madlisa’ and ‘Zuma’ who have released various AmaPiano hits including ‘Iy’ntsimbi Zase Envy’ (featuring Busta 929, Beast Rsa and Dladla Mshunqisi) and ‘Manyonyoba’ (featuring Busta 929 and Lady Du).
