MBABANE – Double joy for Eswatini as Hloniphile Sihlongonyane bags two roles in South African shows, namely Isitha the Enemy and Shaka Ilembe Season 2.
It’s safe to say the new South African telenovela Isitha the Enemy is embracing emaSwati as yet another liSwati has joined the cast. Sihlongonyane (38) from Ngculwini Manzini joins fellow comedians Gedlembane and Lawrence Sihlongonyane.
Isitha premiered on e.TV in May last year. It airs weeknights at 9.30 p.m.
Sihlongonyane has also been confirmed for season two of the hit drama series Shaka iLembe, which will air on Mzansi Magic when it returns. Multichoice made the announcement last year, in September, that it would make a return to the channel. It is worth mentioning that season 1 aired on Sundays at 8 p.m.
When reached for comment about her role on Isitha, Sihlongonyane shared with this publication that she plays the role of a nurse. She said,” I’m signed under Hlophe Casting Agency. I auditioned for the role. I already made an appearance last Tuesday.”
When asked if she had had other roles before joining the SA shows, she said, “I have played on the block as Make Dlamini, which aired on Eswatini TV. I have also had a role In this life, where I played Mamajoy, Swazi Gold, as an elder sister of King Ngwane 2, and In the street government, where I played the role of Thantazile.”
When asked about her role in the upcoming season two of the much anticipated Shaka iLembe, she shared with this publication that she has been confirmed as part of the cast for a cameo role, but she hasn’t got more details as yet.
