MBABANE – Top Models Eswatini is set to host a vibrant hub of fashion and art to celebrate Africa Day on Saturday at the Asante Guest House in Manzini.
The event is expected to kick off at 1pm. This was confirmed by the founder of Top Models, Eswatini, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mbalenhle Manana.
Manana shared with this publication that her agency, in partnership with Asante Guest House, will bring together fashionistas, cultural and art lovers, and all members of the local community for a celebration of culture and heritage.
The event will be hosted by local designers, featuring fashion designers from across the country, which is South Africa and Mozambique. They will be bringing in their exquisite designs inspired by Chinese cultures, designs, and traditional aesthetics. Others will be bringing in their artistic African designs, crochet outfits, and emagcebesha.
“We are bringing all fashionistas to this show because we want to give you a glimpse of creative fashion and modern designs by your local and international designers who have worked with the likes of Thulani Shange and the famous soap opera Isitha the Enemy,” said Manana.
Designers from SA who have made a name for themselves in the fashion industry will be present to showcase their latest designs. The SA designers include; Ginosko Boy, Nathi, Athenkosi Tfungula, and local ones. The event will incorporate a fashion show, a traditional food expo, and traditional products that are also to be sold.
When speaking to this publication, Kennedy Kamenga of No Limit Brand confirmed that he would be at the fashion extravaganza. He said, “I am definitely coming to this show, as my friend has convinced me to be present. I have never done a fashion show, as I am a premium brand for corporate people. I am looking forward to presenting my designs, which have only been exploited for overseas people for casual African touch.”
