MBABANE – The Ascension Day will be celebrated at Mbangweni Royal residence in Shiselweni On May 9, 2024.

This was confirmed by League of African Churches President Archbishop Professor Samson Hlatjwako. He said the highly anticipated Ascension Day celebrations would be held at the Mbangweni Royal Residence in Nhlangano, to honour the divinely ordained blessing bestowed by the Majesties.

According to President Hlatjwako, pastors will converge at Mbangweni Royal Residence on May 8, 2024, in preparation for the solemn service scheduled to commence the following day. He stressed the importance of punctuality, urging congregants to arrive at the holy grounds well before the start time of 10am, to avoid any disruption to the hallowed proceedings.

Hlatjwako also talked about the Good Friday event held on March 29, 2024 at the premises of the National Church in Lobamba, where the faithful congregated in reverence to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind. The Good Friday service was followed by meetings the following day, where His Majesty King Mswati III met religious leaders at Ngabezweni Royal Residence.

Her Majesty the Indlovukazi met the women of the cloth at Ludzidzini Royal Residence. The purpose of the meetings was to discuss problems that met both the men and women in church and how they could be overcome. On Sunday, the Easter Sunday service was held at Somhlolo National Stadium by all the brethren. On Monday, the church leaders met at Ludzidzini Royal Residence to bid farewell to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi. The same thing was done to His Majesty the King the following day.
