MBABANE– Eswatini keeps on creating relations for the good of emaSwati and the country’s governing system.

In most recent events, it has been revealed that Morocco Speaker of the House of Advisors, Enaam Mayara, and President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Lindiwe Dlamini, signed on Friday in Ezulwini, south of the capital Mbabane, a parliamentary cooperation protocol between the two legislative institutions.

According to reports from different international media houses, this agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 10th consultative meeting of the Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA), held from May 11 to 13 in Ezulwini.

This Parliamentary Cooperation Protocol is a framework for cooperation and exchange between the two parties for consultation, upgrading, management capacity building and human resource development.

“It is meant to promote bilateral parliamentary relations through establishing a framework for cooperation based on programs that will be implemented in the form of an annual action plan.

“The aim is to improve the quality of parliamentary services, simplify administrative processes and modernize e-government, promote the exchange and mutual development of research on legislation and manage knowledge in areas related to parliamentary action,” read the reports.

In a statement to Moroccan MAP, Mayara stressed that this agreement is part of Morocco’s efforts to promote exchanges of experience and expertise and support initiatives to strengthen relations between the two countries.

He added that the protocol of parliamentary cooperation will allow the human resources of both institutions to benefit from training workshops, in order to strengthen the capacity of both institutions in monitoring government action.
