MBABANE- Road infrastructure has certainly improved incredibly in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

This is evidenced in an aerial view of the newly constructed public roads around the country. In fact, when you drive or walk along these roads it is difficult to see its beauty and scenes.

Go on air, you will be shocked how the country has done so much in its public roads when compared to other countries in Africa.

This publication can mention with authority that the Ministry of Public Works and Transport has been working diligently and with much determination to ensure development in road infrastructure in Eswatini.

A case in point is the Manzini/ Mbadlane highway that has become a marvel to look at and a breath of fresh air for motorists who travel along that road.

Minister of Public Works and Transport Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe expressed gratitude to government for the support that has been forthcoming during the implementation of the road projects that have been taking place in the country regarding the infrastructure.

“I would like to thank the government for the support in developing the roads in the country as this is very essential because of the transportation sector that relies greatly on good and improved roads so as to transport people around the country in a manner that is safe.

“We have also been working very hard in trying to maintain these roads, but at times due to circumstances we cannot control such as the weather, the development is taken a few steps back. We will continue to work on improving more roads and the road infrastructure in the country,” the minister said.

The minister, who is also Chief of Bulandzeni and Nkambeni, stated that the development in road infrastructure has also been noted by tourists – a thing which he believes will boost the economy of the country.

“We are working towards making sure that our infrastructure matches that of many other developed countries, and I believe that we will continue to work hand in hand with government to ensure the development of the country in that regard,” said Ndwandwe.

Meanwhile, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Thulani Mkhaliphi has issued a notice stating that the MR3 Manzini-Ngwenya Border Highway will be under rehabilitation, fixing the damaged sections of the road. The PS has stated the public should drive carefully when these proceedings commence.
