MBABANE- Another country has shown a soft side for Eswatini.
Australia has funded a rehabilitation of a powered borehole project at New Village in Matsapha and this was made public today.
Australian High Commissioner to South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique Namibia and Ambassador to Angola, Gita Kamath, announced this today on her Twitter page.
“The Australian High Commission is pleased to fund the rehabilitation of a solar powered borehole in New Village, Eswatini through our Direct Aid Program. The borehole will improve the supply of potable and safe drinking water and reinforce good hygiene practices,” said Kamath.
However, the high commissioner and ambassador did not reveal the figure that was used in the rehabilitation project.
According to Australian Government website, The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a small grants program funded from Australia’s aid budget. It has the flexibility to work with local communities in developing countries on projects that reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development consistent with Australia’s national interest.
