AUTISM ESWATINI RECEIVES DONATION OF E50 000 FROM ENPC

MBABANE – The Eswatini National Petroleum Company (ENPC) has made a noteworthy contribution to Autism Eswatini of E50,000 during a ceremony in Mbabane yesterday.

ENPC’s Chief Executive Officer, Nhlanhla Dlamini, presented a generous donation assisting Autism Eswatini in their goal of spreading autism awareness.

Dlamini spoke on the importance of increasing public awareness of autism, acknowledging the growing cases within Eswatini.

“We are here to donate to Autism Eswatini. We are aware of the challenges that we face as emaSwati, particularly autism, and the growing cases which is concerning. We want to help raise awareness of the issue of autism,” stated Dlamini.

Dlamini expressed the company’s optimism that the contribution would be beneficial in assisting the organization’s initiatives, including therapy, training, awareness, and advocacy. Dlamini extended gratitude to the Autism Eswatini Board, Management, and staff for their unwavering dedication to the autism cause.

ENPC’s contribution is part of their Corporate Social Investment (CSI) program, focusing on supporting socio-economic projects that promote community development. The company’s areas of focus include Health, Education, Environment, Energy Poverty, and Community-based Social Development.

The donation ceremony was attended by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Autism Eswatini, Pastor Senzo Hlatshwayo, who expressed deep appreciation for the support.

“Autism is a practical response issue, and it needs specialists in specialized responses. So, then it gave birth to a vision as Autism Eswatini, we need to build a good structure that will respond to autism. We are working together with Microprojects, and we have found land where we will build,” explained Hlatshwayo.

Hlatshwayo also called on other companies to follow ENPC’s lead and join in and support autism initiatives, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges faced by those living with autism.
