…In Hip-Hop and Poetry song
MBABANE – “This is a new genre”.
This is what Eswatini poet B-Sim said about the song he is set to release with South African Hip Hop artist and songwriter PEPSURAH.
B-Sim, real name Simanga Ntsini, revealed that the song is going to be part of his upcoming album ‘Sikhuni Lesisodvwa’, which comes out next month.
“The project is called ‘Sikhuni Lesisodvwa’ because I happened to write it at a time when I felt like my life was in a dark place and I was alone,” said B-Sim.
B-Sim expressed that he was grateful to have worked with Pepsurah as she was an amazing artist with a great network of people she works with.
“This is also the first time in the country that there has been a poetry and hip hop collaboration. The whole album is inspired by Qibho’s ‘Swangoma’ concept, which was a similar combination of Hip Hop and Poetry, as exhibited by one artist,” revealed B-Sim about his upcoming album. Pepsurah, whose real name is Fundiswa Khumalo, is a South African hip-hop artist and songwriter born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, KZN.
