MBABANE – BAHLE BESUTFU Investments has been enlisted as the best evaluated tenderer to be awarded the Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC) contracts.
This was revealed by the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA) in their website. The intention to award the company was published Tuesday and they are expected to begin executing it after a period of 10 working days, should they not be contested.
According to the regulator, EWSC was looking for a contractor to design, supply and installation of a 1ml pressed steel tank or equivalent galvanized bolted potable water reservoir at Ticantfwini. EWSC intends to award ESWC the contract worth E4 878 8737.37 to the company.
Worth noting, the contracts EWSC intends to award BAHLE BESUTFU Investments were non-exclusive to local companies. This means that local companies were eligible for the Request For Proposals (RFPs), which only three companies submitted.
This is in line with the provision and procurement of tenders in the Public Procurement Regulations which states that local companies will be granted preferences in the evaluation of tenders in public procurement.
BAHLE BESUTFU Investments was competing with nine other companies for the tender who were enlisted as non-responsive.
It was further stated that one of the companies who were competing for the tender Boab Invest (Pty) Ltd price was not competitive for the tender, thus EWSC intends to award BAHLE BESUTFU Investment.
EWSC was the procuring entity for the tender which was approved by the authority of the board. ESPPRA requested the unsuccessful bidder to submit an application for review with the agency with 10 working days.
“All tenderers who submitted bids are hereby notified that a period of 10 working days is hereby allowed to for submission of any application for review”, said ESPPRA. The agency also mentioned that the tender does not constitute a contract.
