MANZINI – The good ambassadors!

With the recent spike in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases in the country, which has been declared a national disaster recently, Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla has challenged Eswatini’s politicians to be ambassadors, ensuring that the country has zero cases of Gender-Based Violence. She also advocated for the inclusive participation of people with disabilities in the development of communities.

The DPM was addressing the politicians who attended the induction that was held at The George Hotel in Manzini yesterday. She said, “We will strengthen partnerships on issues of inclusion for Persons with Disabilities, ensuring that they are not left behind in socio-economic activities aimed at improving their livelihoods at Chiefdoms and Tinkhundla levels.”

Dladla went on to challenge the politicians to minimise poverty for Emaswati before vacating office in five years. “As elected politicians, it is important for you to grasp and run at lightning speed with these responsibilities. In my capacity as Deputy Prime Minister, I challenge you to ensure that by the end of your term of office, the wickedness of poverty that engulfs 59 per cent of emaSwati is alleviated.” concluded Dlaldla.
