MBABANE – Members of the Business Eswatini (BE) yesterday met to come up with strategies to improve the country’s manufacturing sector.
The meeting, which was hosted by BE, was attended by industry leaders, aimed to bolster economic growth and create a more conducive environment for businesses in the manufacturing sector.
According to information from BE’s Facebook page the meeting was chaired by BE’s Manufacturing and Processing Sector Chairperson and General Manager of CONCO Eswatini, Muzi Mahlobo. Industry leaders who attended the meeting represent companies that play a significant role in the country’s economic activity.
The meeting was held after the Minister of Finance delivered the budget speech, and it focused on developing a strategy for the sector’s sustainable growth, in line with the country’s economic development goals.
It is stated that the main focus of the discussions was to identify the key issues affecting the manufacturing sector and develop actionable strategies to address them.
The BE members analyzed the sector’s policy and operational environment, including regulatory barriers and infrastructural challenges. The goal was to come up with practical solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability in the sector.
