LOBAMBA – Better days are coming for Eswatini and all the people inside the country.
This was said by His Majesty King Mswati III yesterday (March 31, 2024) when he preached during the Easter Sunday Service, marking the commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The event was held at Somhlolo National Stadium.
However, His Majesty the King said a positive relationship with God was the only thing that was going to make the Better days to come. He called upon all Emaswati to ensure their relationship with God stayed positive at all times.
The King said the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ reminded Emaswati and all people of this world how God loved humanity. He said God sent Jesus, his only son, to die so that humanity could have eternal life.
He said this showed that better days would come for anyone who took opportunity of what was done by God to humanity. According to the King, his life was also better because he was having a positive relationship with God.
In his 30-minute address, which was delivered with an aid of Interpreter Sihle Dlamini, the King made an example of Joseph. He said Joseph’s days were better because he walked with God.
The King said Joseph’s life manifested itself to be different from the time when he was still young. Among the 12 sons of Jacob (Israel), it became clear that Joseph was Jacob’s favourite. Joseph’s brothers, according to the King, did not like that.
Joseph, according to the King, made things worse by telling them about a dream, where he saw his brothers kneeling before him. His brothers became angry and decided to sell him to Egypt.
In Egypt, Joseph became a trusted servant of Egyptian King Potifar. As days went by, Joseph was admired by many, as he was handsome. Among Joseph’s admirers was Potifar’s wife.
The wife unsuccessfully made sexual advances towards Joseph. Upon seeing that she was unsuccessful, she was angry and told her husband that Joseph wanted to rape her.
Joseph was arrested and while in jail, the Egyptian King had a dream and could not understand what it meant. Joseph was known as a dream interpreter in jail and the King was told about him. Joseph interpreted the dream for the Egyptian King such that the King decided to make him his right hand man.
His Majesty the King said looking at the adversities Joseph encountered, it was difficult to imagine him being successful, but because he was favoured by God, his days were better. He said Joseph was a foreigner in Egypt, but he ended up being a ruler because he was favoured by God.
Her Majesty the Indlovukazi also preached during the service. She warned the brethren to ensure that they kept on praying and be faithful to God because the Almighty was also faithful to his followers.
She warned against the acts of lying, saying God did not like that. She said the world was now full of false prophets, who at times could lead people astray.
The Indlovukazi said if people used God as their source of strength, they would be protected from evil encounters like false prophets. She also expressed her wish to be with the brethren next year and emphasised that this wish could only be fulfilled if the brethren would use God as their source of strength.
