MBABANE – Gospel artist Bhelekazi Kunene has a new debut album titled ‘The Captives,’ Release which will be launched next month.
The launch will be held on May 24, 2024, at the Old Zakhele FEA in Manzini. It is expected to kick off at 6pm.
When reached for comment, Bhelekazi shared with this publication that her new album consists of 11 tracks, while five of the songs are already out and the rest of the album will be out next month.
The album was produced by Maybongwe ‘Ma-B’ Nxumalo. When asked if she featured any artists on the album, she said: “Yes, I did feature my big brother, Mnqobi Maseko, whom I am also with in the Praise and Worship team at church, The Kingdom Embassy in Ngwane Park. He is featured in a song titled ‘Busa.’”
She went on to add: “This album is to remind Christians that the greatest mandate is to pray, love, and win souls into the Kingdom of God regardless of what life has thrown at them. Regardless of how the world has labelled them, nobody belongs to the devil; we are all God’s! Therefore, this album titled The Captives’ Release basically means praying for the lost to be released from whatever the devil has a hold over them and come back to God.”
According to Kunene, the launch of the debut album will not just be a launch, but they will continue with the same mandate of prayer more than anything. “We must pray for ourselves, relatives, children, pastors, and parents. We have Pastor Michael David, Chairo, and Pastor Buhle Thela, all from South Africa, and then we have Tanele Mnisi and Musa Phakathi from the Kingdom of Eswatini featured on the day of the launch.”
It worth mentioning that on January 5, 2024, Bhelakazi released an Extended Playlist (EP) featuring four songs. Bhelekazi first released a single titled ‘Sizwile Ukukhala’ on November 3, last year. The EP was produced by Mayibongwe MaB Nxumalo. It was recorded at the Kingdom Embassy in Ngwane Park,Manzini.
