SOCCER – Following the unexpected demise of renowned gospel artist Mayibongwe Mthimkhulu, Mbabane Swallows are mourning with the club’s president Bishop Bheki Lukhele.
The award-winning gospel artist died while receiving treatment at Medisun Clinic on Tuesday evening. She married All Nations Bishop Lukhele who is also Swallows president and was a teacher at St Mark’s Primary School.
Since her sudden passing social media has been abuzz with condolences and words of warmth dedicated to the late gospel singer.
In a statement by the council of elder Chairman Absalom Ngwenya, Swallows said they were saddened by the great loss.
“Mbabane Swallows Elders, Senior Management team, technical team, players, supporters committee, supporters, and the entire Mbabane Swallows family express their heartfelt and deepest condolences to the president of the club, Bishop Bheki Lukhele following the devastating passing on of his dear wife, Mrs. Mayibongwe Lukhele,” the statement read. It continued, “We stand in unison with our dear president at this most painful time and urge the entire local football family to become a place of comfort to our club’s president at this most difficult time. We are saddened by the loss and send our sincerest condolences to the Lukhele and Mthimkhulu families.”
