SOCCER – After five months on the sidelines, Mbabane Swallows’ speedy forward Sizolwethu ‘Nunu’ Shabalala is back doing light training.
The striker was captured in full sprint alongside his teammates at their Ezulwini training base under the watchful eye of Coach Caleb Ngwenya.
Despite resuming training, the star is not expected to be in the club’s starting team for the next coming two weeks as he regains fitness and is expected to push both Bashir Mutanda and Sandile Hlatshwako for a starting berth once fully fit.
‘Nunu’ underwent an operation last October after suffering from perforated ulcers. He has played only one game this campaign, the opening game of the season against Young Buffaloes where he located the back of the net.
“Sizolwethu is back from injury (operation) and will be doing light training under the supervision of our team doctors and fitness coaches,” Swallows said in a statement. ‘Nunu’ is a product of Swallows development teams and was promoted to the senior team alongside Richard McCreesh. He boasts of CAF inter-club competitions experience and has captained the national Under-20 team.
