MBABANE – South African Afro-Pop duo Blaq Diamond has partnered with Megasound Events for the first edition of Umuthi Fest.
The festival will be held on April 18, 2024 at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, Outdoor Arena.
Umuthi is a record label and movement founded by Blaq Diamond following their musical journey. Zulu D of Megasound Events confirmed with this publication that the duo from SA have indeed partnered with them for the first edition of the festival. He said: “Umuthi Records has partnered with us to do the Umuthi Fest. They will bring their friends from SA—at least four to five big acts. They are set for April 18 at the Mavuso outdoor arena.”
When asked about local acts that will also be part of the festival, Zulu D, who is the organiser of the festival, said they will reveal the names as time goes by as the build-up to the festival begins.
Tickets to the festival are already available at Computicket. Presale general is E150; VIP is E400. Tickets at the gate will cost E200.

Blaq Diamond duo consists of Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa. Blaq Diamond is a South African pop duo for KwaZulu Natal. They met in 2010 on a school trip, where they both participated in music ciphering on a school bus. They signed with the record label Ambitious Records, releasing their first debut album titled Inqola, in 2017, which became the first iTunes number one. They first gained popularity for the single titled Ibhanoyi in 2019, which became a SAMA Record of the Year.
