BUDGET SPEECH AND SPEECH FROM THE THRONE TALK OF THE TOWN

BUHLENI– The buzzword during the main day of the Buganu Festival was ‘Speech from the throne’ and the budget speech.

People from Buhleni and everyone else that had come to join in on the festivities kept mentioning that His Majesty King Mswati III spoke well last Friday.

This was when he officially opened the 5th session of the 11th Parliament, this was then followed by Minister of Finance Neal Reijenbuk delivering his budget speech yesterday.

The people in attendance praised the Minister and King for touching on important issues during their speeches.

“ I was impressed when the King spoke about the merciless killings, then Minister Finance announced the dialogue budget. This means hope for the country, we remain hopeful,” said Jubela Zwane.

Another said the money set aside for the Ministry of Education and Training was impressive. He further thanked the King for calling for calm in the killings of emaSwati.

“ The last two Fridays have really been amazing for any liSwati citizen because leaders of the country are taking things seriously and bringing back the calm and change we need,” said Sambulo Hlengetfwa.

Others were overheard saying they could not wait to hear what the King had to say today, they mentioned that when the King speaks from the heart it is easier to relate to him.
