MBABANE – Central bank of Eswatinis General Manager Lungile Dlamini is the new chairperson of the new board members for Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority (ESERA).
This was revealed today during unveiling of new board members for ESERA.
The gender balanced with a mix of both youthful and seasons individuals with extensive experience in both the private and the public sector board members of Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority, was revealed by the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Peter Bhembe at Mountain Inn.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Minister Bhembe said whilst the country is faced with a bigger challenge of providing security of electricity supply, he is confident that the appointment of the board members will enhance oversight and performance of the regulator. He further urged the board members to execute their responsibilities to oversee performance of the regulator and also ensure that good Corporate Governance Principles are followed at all times, work transparently with integrity and honesty in ensuring service excellency within the Regulator.
The eight-member team include the newly appointed chairperson Ms Lungile Dlamini, Deputy Chairperson Qhakazile Dlamini, Chief Maliwa Maziya, Luke Mswane, Zanele Mlambo, Mandala Vilakati, Susan Mordant and Chief Mshikashika Ngcampalala as members.
The newly-appointed chairperson said they promise to always be accessible and engaging to ESERA management and staff, and to also remain consultative to the Ministry for guidance in executing their mandate. ESERA is a statutory energy regulatory body.
