… CBE applauds CBL for contributions and practical lessons

MBABANE-This week, the Central Bank of Eswatini hosted officials from the Central Bank of Lesotho to engage in a sharing session.

The objective of the engagement session was to share lessons learned by professionals from the two institutions in areas including; strategy and communication management, stakeholder engagement, macro-economic and market indicators research, publications, financial markets and regulatory frameworks.

CBE Deputy Governor Felicia Dlamini-Kunene welcomed the team, highlighting that Lesotho and Eswatini have enjoyed longstanding relations across different spheres of life and in the context of central banking and often interact with different departments for mutual learning and benchmarking.

Kunene further thanked the Central Bank of Lesotho for their recent contribution towards the National Payments Switch Project which was extremely helpful in providing practical lessons and creating reflection points on how the Central Bank of Eswatini could better roll out its current payment switch initiatives.

“We remain grateful to the Central Bank of Lesotho for being always ready to welcome our staff for different kinds of interactions,” she said.

CBE Assistant Governor Mfanfikile Dlamini stated that it was an honour for the Bank to host an accomplished and experienced team of professionals from the Central Bank of Lesotho.

“Not only did our teams share what we have done at the Central Bank of Eswatini, but we have also learned from your varied and rich experience in Central Banking,” said Dlamini.  Dlamini further mentioned that he hoped these conversations would give birth to more opportunities for professional collaboration.
