Today was an exciting time for Sugar Association CEO, Banele Nyamane, as he un-wrapped the Oukitel smartphone C-36 as his give away gift, as the winner of the One Lilangeni donation competition.
The competition was launched by SOS Children’s Villages, through the One-lilangeni Campaign, as another vehicle to raise more funds towards the E 2.7 million SOS Eswatini target for the year 2024, whereby individual givers were requested to donate an amount of E 500.00 or more towards the campaign for the benefit of beneficiaries under the care of SOS children’s Villages.
Mr. Nyamane who is a former SOS board member, said he saw the competition being advertised on the SOS facebook page and he participated by donating his E500.00. He said that the intention was not to win but it was to lend a hand towards the beautiful work being done by SOS.
“I am utterly surprised that I won. I am even more surprised that this is an exclusive smartphone. When they called me from SOS, I was thinking the phone is a Sgedlemba, but still I was very excited that I won. Now I am happy that I will be testing this new brand. Thank you so much for this prize”, he said.

Nyamane further stated that he is happy that companies like Oukitel partner with SOS Children’s Village, because as an NGO helping vulnerable children, SOS deserves all the assistance it can get. He also said that he hopes that likeminded organisations and individuals can support the work of SOS, to better the lives of children in the country.
Donations
“As a non-profit making organisation, we are humbled by the support of Individuals and companies in Eswatini, without whom our work would not be possible. We wish to send our heartfelt appreciation to all members of the public who participated in the competition and donated to the organization. Whatever amount is donated, we appreciate. For us, there is no money too little to be donated, that is why our campaign is called the “ONE LILANGENI CAMPAIGN”, so that anyone can donate any amount they have, from as little as lilangeni. We beseech more high-profile and middle-class individuals, companies, and other institutions to support the SOS mandate”, concluded the Fundraising manager, Hlobisile Skhosana.
SOS Children’s Villages has also extended the competition as new prizes are being won. Currently, Tupperware Sicalo Sales, has donated a full dish set towards the donation competition and any member of the public who will donate E 200.00 or more stands a chance to win the Tupperware set.
