EZULWINI – 22 years of service!

This is the number of years in which Inkhosikati Make Lantentesa was honoured for serving Cheshire Homes Eswatini.

Cheshire Homes today honoured Inkhosikati Make Lantentesa for being one of the longest-serving patrons who has helped them keep Cheshire Homes running at its full potential.

Speaking during the ceremony where she was presented with a certificate of appreciation, the Inkhosikati was grateful that they had managed to keep Cheshire Homes running in spite of their main annual fundraising event being cancelled for three years due to COVID-19.

“Recently we successfully held our revived fund-raising walk at Malolotja where we saw a huge turnout and seeing all of you come out and uplift was such a delight.  We are pleased to be able to host the walk, after a challenging three years of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We certainly missed this excitement and vibe that our walkers bring during this charity event,”  said Inkhosikat Make Lantentesa.

“This long break weighed heavily on our resources, a clear indication of how far the funds collected from this initiative go in assisting us to procure the much-needed medical equipment and meeting the operational cost of running the home.  The negative impacts of the pandemic have robbed us and the entire nation of many gains we have made. However, we remain optimistic that with the continued collaboration from us, we shall rise again and see good growth post-Covid-19,” she added.

Inkhosikati Make Lantentesa also thanked the Government for its support of Cheshire Homes.

“We particularly wish to also express our sincere appreciation to His Majesty’s government for the financial support rendered in the form of subventions which it gives to Cheshire Homes to support its mandate. This assistance goes a long way in assisting the Home to reach its full potential and fulfil its mission of providing quality accessible and affordable rehabilitation to many Emaswati,” said Inkhosikati.

Minister of Home Affairs Princess Lindilwe echoed the Inkhosikati’s words and thanked His Majesty for supporting her in her charitable activities.

Chairperson of the Cheshire Homes Board of Directors, Themba Dlamini, reiterated that Inkhosikati Make Lantentesa has always made means to help keep the home open when it was in dire straits, adding that this was due to her care for Emaswati living disabilities.

Cheshire Homes also honoured 23 other companies who have helped them for about a decade with keeping the home running.
