MANZINI – South African Gospel Artist, Songwriter, Pastor, and Multiple-Award Nominee Collen Maluleke is a confirmed feature for Wyclef Sim’s album.
The album will be recorded live on the night of the official launch of the Response Foundation on May 11, 2024, at the Metropolitan Church in Manzini and entry is free. This was confirmed by the founder and CEO of the Response Foundation, Wycliff Simelane, who is also a gospel musician known as Wyclef Sim.
Maluleke is also the founder and pastor of the Goshen City Church at Westdene in Johannesburg, a vibrant church closer to the University of Johannesburg.
“Having mostly spent my time in SA in the past four years, I would occasionally fellowship at Pastor Collen’s church, Goshen City Church. When he released the album Word, Prayer, and Worship last year, I found myself soaking in that album. As someone who spends most of her time on the road, especially between Eswatini and Johannesburg, I spent the entire year almost exclusively listening to this album. From song number one to song number last, I couldn’t help marvelling at the class in which the music was produced. I knew that when my time came to record an album, I would have to work with Pastor Collen Maluleke’s team at whatever cost.”
According to Simelane, rehearsals have started at Bramley Studios in Sandton. He said, “We are halfway through the preparations now with the team of professionals who are working with the likes of Dr. Tumi, Lebo Segkobela, Joyous Celebration, Mpumi Mtsweni, and other singers, including Michael David, who shall also be a featured artist for the same album I will record on the 11th of May. I am so thrilled that Pastor Collen has agreed to come and be part of the line-up of this worship convocation, since it carries a lot of the DNA of his kind of sound. We shall definitely create a night to remember for all music lovers.”
He further mentioned that since it’s a free event hosted by the foundation, they are looking for partners that can participate in the giving towards meeting the financial obligations of hosting this event. There are three categories of giving for individuals that come with a special sitting arrangement on the night.
