BUHLENI – Ndzingeni Stream representatives Community FC emerged victorious in the Buhleni Under-13 Cabana Tournament, clinching the title with a decisive 2-0 win over Mawombe Arsenal in the finals.
The game was played on Saturday (June 8, 2024) at Buhleni Sports Ground.
They were presented by the Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) Chairman Dr Comfort Shongwe with E1 500, prestigious Cabana Trophy plus medals and cabana juice, marking the culmination of an exciting and highly competitive event.
Runners up Ntabinempisi stream representatives Mawombe Arsenal were awarded with medals and cabana juice for reaching the finals.
The tournament saw fierce competition, particularly in the semi-finals where Mawombe Arsenal squeaked past Njakeni United from Timpisini stream, in a tense penalty shootout after playing out to a goalless draw in regulation time. Community FC cruised past Fast Movers from Mhlangatane stream with a comfortable 3-0 win.
The tournament not only highlighted the emerging talent in the region but also fostered a spirit of sportsmanship and community engagement, making it a memorable event for all participants and spectators.
Community FC’s Sibongokuhle ‘Lorch’ Dlamini was named the player of the tournament and honoured with a pack of Cabana Juice for his exceptional performance throughout the competition.
The champions are sponsored to the tune of E200 000 by Lactalis and the next stop is Lobamba zone on Saturday with the first edition played under the Pigg’s Peak.
