MBABANE – Makholokholo residents are committed to work hand-in-hand with the Municipality Council of Mbabane in order to attain sustainable development, which includes construction of a community hall in that place.

This was mentioned in a community meeting that was held at Makholokholo Gogo Centre yesterday (Sunday, June 16, 2024).Facilitated by the Local Community Committee (LCC), the gathering focused on the construction of a community hall to improve development opportunities and enhance community welfare.

Sibusiso Sambo, one of the community residents, highlighted the great impact the proposed community hall would have on fostering community engagement and lead them to sustainable development. “The community hall will serve as a hub for events and holding community meetings where we would discuss ways in which we can transform the community for the better and in that way we would achieve the much needed sustainable development in Makholokholo,” Sambo said.

Knowledge Ngwenya, the Director of the LCC in Makholokholo, underscored the committee’s dedication to ensuring the holistic well-being of every resident and outlined strategic initiatives aimed at propelling community development. Notably, Ngwenya emphasized the committee’s commitment to catering to the needs of the elderly within the community, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to community welfare.

The presence of Local Community Committees (LCCs) in all 12 Wards of Mbabane shows a strong effort to align the city’s development plans with the needs of its residents. These committees play a crucial role in making sure that the city’s progress reflects and meets the diverse needs of the community, creating a close and mutually beneficial connection between the government and the people.
