MBABANE – “I therefore encourage the business community to take seriously the network provided by this dinner and come up with tangible projects that will contribute to the country’s economic growth.”
These were the words of His Majesty King Mswati III when speaking to the Shiselweni business community yesterday. His Majesty was speaking at a business dinner which was hosted by the Shiselweni business community, as led by Build-It as the main sponsor. The dinner was held at Mbangweni Royal Residence.
His Majesty noted that “such dinners provide business people, particularly Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, with the opportunity to network with large enterprises.” He therefore urged the businesses to collaborate in coming up with projects that will contribute to the country’s economic growth.
“I urge the Shiselweni business community to meet and come up with tangible solutions to address the issue of unemployment. We do realise that the matter of unemployment was further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, but COVID-19 is over now,” noted His Majesty.
“It is time to double our efforts to ensure that we recover from all the losses of that difficult period. I charge businesses to spur no effort in ensuring that business strives in this region and the kingdom at large,” added His Majesty.
“I encourage businesses to cooperate with the country when it comes to job creation to open up opportunities for those that cannot find jobs. So many people are looking for employment, amongst which are those who are now old but have never had the opportunity to be employed,” encouraged His Majesty when speaking to the business community.
The business dinner was also attended by the Queen Mother. It was held following the highly successful Umhlanga Reed Dance ceremony in the Shiselweni region which was held over the weekend, and graced by their Majesties as well.
