MBABANE– The Council of South Africa Football Association (COSAFA) has organized a Basic Goalkeeping Coaching Course.
It has been disclosed that the course, which kicked off yesterday, will run until August 5th. It will also be attended by coaches from national teams participating in Johannesburg.
According to a press statement released by Eswatini Football Association, (EFA) today, Eswatini coaches will attend.
EFA has stated that FIFA Instructor Mr Alejandro Heredia will be the instructor.
“The course aims to equip coaches with the necessary tools and knowledge to hone their goalkeepers’ skills. Each COSAFA Member Association has sent two representatives, one male and one female, to partake in the program.
Among the participants is Mr Mphikeleli Dlamini, the U20 Boy’s National Team Coach, representing the Eswatini Football Association. Joining him is Ms Simphiwe Simelane, the U20 Girls Head Coach for EFA. These respected coaches have met the minimum qualification requirement for the course, holding a CAF C License.
This course aims to significantly uplift the standard of goalkeeping in COSAFA member nations. As the training unfolds, not only will the coaches develop their own knowledge and skills, but they will also be able to impart their newfound expertise to the goalkeepers they mentor, setting the stage for a brighter future in African football, “ states the press release.
