MBABANE – MTN has hit one million subscribers!

The company has stated that this milestone reflects that MTN is the market leader and how the company’s core belief that “everyone deserves the benefits of a modern, connected life” has come alive.

In a press release, the company has stated that this could not have come at a better time as the company is also celebrating “The Power of Service” and of people on the front-liners who made a difference in the lives of its customers in this year’s Customer Service Week.

MTN attributes this milestone to the loyalty, support, and commitment of its customers. Therefore, in celebrating this landmark achievement, the company launch a celebratory give-away to its valued customers.

MTN Chief Executive Officer Wandile Mtshali said reaching a million subscribers is an important milestone for the company and is therefore grateful to its customers that have been loyal and supportive over the past 23 years.

“To all our customers, thank you very much. You are one in a million”, said Mtshali.

“I want to assure you that our key focus remains the expansion of the infrastructure to enhance network quality for both voice and data nationwide and driving affordability for all our products and services,” he further stated.

He also thanked the company’s staff for working hard to keep customers connected to their lives ones after their lives were turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic.

Mtshali said this is a key milestone for the company after making significant investments in deploying state-of-the-art infrastructure that delivers innovative world-class telecommunications services to its subscribers.

“It is clear from our research that network quality investment remains one of the key reasons customers have confidence in the MTN network,” he said. Mtshali said they would continue to maintain and extend MTN’s tradition and culture of celebrating success.  He also indicated that this milestone aligns with the company’s aspiration of becoming the biggest platform business in line with the company strategy.

Mtshali also thanked the Regulator, Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) for creating and sustaining a friendly regulatory environment. “Without the Regulator’s support, this milestone may have been a distant aspiration,” said Mntshali.

Mtshali said MTN continues to explore the most advanced technologies, including the pilot of 5G in the first quarter of 2021, to ensure the provision of quality services to meet customer needs. These initiatives support the overall objective of providing the best customer experience nationwide.

Over the past four years, MTN has invested over E1 billion to improve network coverage and quality. These investments include setting up new network sites to enable the company to meet the increasing demand for digital services and financial inclusion products that support access to a reliable payment system. MTN has lined up a series of exciting activities and customer giveaways to celebrate both Customer Service Week and hitting one million customers.
