DAYS TO CYCLING NEARS NATIONAL ROAD CHAMPS

MBABANE – Highly anticipated!

This describes the exact feeling of cyclists in the country who are certainly anticipating the battle of cycling kings of Eswatini at the same time. Cycling National Road Championships that are a week away.

Coming from the long and challenging Border2Border race, which starts at Ngwenya Border to Lavumisa covering 240km, they certainly got the practice they needed for the upcoming national road race billed for June 25, 2023 .

The Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA), will have the calendar event on June 25, precisely next Sunday. This is exactly 11 days away from today.

Cyclists, who enjoyed the Border- 2 Border route and scenery, will also appreciate the upcoming event as it will project similar scenes.

Meanwhile, the other distances will remain the same being 100km and 75km.

POLICE POOL TEAM WINS

MBABANE – The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) are not only stern on crime but on the pool tables too.

The REPS Pool Team are champions of the inaugural MRPA Cup 2023.

The league is sponsored to the tune of E4 000. REPS opened the MRPA Cup against security forces rivals Correctional Services and won 13-4, they went on to meet Q Potters in the quarters, where they won, while giants Way Inn crumbled again against Malkerns in the opening game a fortnight ago, suffering a 13-7 defeat before the former lost to MPC in the quarter-finals.

Ludzeludze lost to runners-up Stairs in quarters, while Figaredo were outfoxed by Garrison who then lost 13-11 in the semis to a Zweli ‘Siziba’ Dlamini inspired Stairs. REPS beat a tough MPC narrowly as it was 13-12.

The final was full of excited fans spectacle for the fans as REPS did not win it on a silver platter.

Stairs made the star-studded REPS sweat before succumbing to a 13-11 loss. REPS were the eventual champions and will pocket E4 000 for this, while the runners-up Stairs take home E3 000.
