MBABANE – Africa’s ‘Secret Santa’ BI Phakathi has revealed that internationally acclaimed SA DJ Black Coffee bought Nompilo Dlamini a breathing machine.

This revelation came after the DJ was accused by a clueless tweep who claimed the DJ was allegedly not giving back to less privileged individuals.

Reacting to the tweet, BI Phakathi defended Black Coffee by revealing that when he was taking the late Nompilo Dlamini to Cape Town, she was using a breathing machine given to her by Black Coffee.

Nompilo, a 29-year-old cystic fibrosis Liswati patient, passed on Monday  after battling with (CF), a disease which damages the lungs and the digestive system.

Nompilo was regarded as one of the patients who became an activist in the fight against cancer.

After learning about her death, the philanthropist BI Phakathi rushed to his popular social media platforms to pay tribute to Nompilo Dlamini and sent his condolences to her family.

“Our sister and friend Nompilo has passed on. She fought against cystic fibrosis and helped so many battling this condition. We will forever remember her as our fighting warrior and smiling angel. Sending love and prayers to her family in this tough season,” he penned on his feed.

“You fought this battle for everyone. I knew you would go someday but I was not ready to take the pain of losing you. Well done my sister, you did it and won our hearts ♥️,” BI Phakathi said.

Although she lost her fight to cystic fibrosis, Dlamini received some help along the way. In 2021, South African rapper Cassper Nyovest – real name Refiloe Maele Phoolo helped raise R150 000 in donations for her to receive a lung transplant. Disc jockey Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo popularly known as Black Coffee had also previously gifted her a breathing machine, BI Phakhathi revealed.
