MBABANE – Swimming with the big sharks!
Eswatini-born DJ Bloss has secured his first big gig, where he will be sharing the stage with South African renowned artists including Makhadzi, Kabza De Small, Mdu Masilela, Young Stunna, Oscar Mbo, Lamiez, and many more.
The show, dubbed: ‘It’s a Hunose All White Everything Birthday Celebration,’ will be held on May 1 in Pretoria Loftus Outer Field.
Other A-listers on the poster are Myztro Cedric, Vigro Deep, DJ Maphorisa, Skomota, Focalistic, Master Kg, Blaq Diamond, Murumba Pitch, and many more.
When reached for comment, the excited DJ shared with this publication that this is his biggest gig ever since he moved to Pretoria in South Africa. “This is actually my first big gig since I moved two years ago, hence the excitement. I’m grateful to God for music,” he said.
The DJ shared with this publication that the event is a birthday celebration for the Marketing Director at Propaganda, who goes by the name Hunose. He said: “I work closely with them. He is the one who approached me for the gig, and I was informed that there would be a big event that I would be a part of.”
When asked how he feels about this development in his career, he said: “To represent and fly the flag high feels good. It is a good feeling and I would like to encourage the aspiring DJs to work hard, put God first, and be open to learning and getting criticised.”
Born Blessing Gama in Mpolonjeni, he shared with this publication that he started turning tables back in high school. The DJ has released two Extended Playlists (EPs). The first one is titled ‘Somnyama,’ and the second one is titled ‘Where are you from?’
He has performed at Propaganda in Pretoria, 012 Lifestyle in Pretoria, The Establishment in Soweto, Cafe Baku in Jozi, and Rhythm Lounge in Vaal. The list goes on and on. According to the DJ, his most memorable performance was when he was on stage and SK Khoza came and asked his name, then he spoke on the microphone and introduced him to the crowd.
