DPM INVITED TO BIGGEST BRAAI

MBABANE – Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla has formally been invited to this year’s Biggest Braai, which will be held on July 20, 2024.

The invitation was extended by Philani Mswati Charity Organisation Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini yesterday (April 10, 2024) at the Deputy Prime Minister’s Offices (DPMO) in Mbabane.

This was during the courtesy visit paid by the executive members of the charity organisation. During this visit, the DPM paid tribute to Philani Maswati Charity Organisation for its unwavering commitment to serving the elderly, despite the many challenges the organisation faces. She praised the organisation for its efforts to improve the lives of the elderly.

The DPM stated that the organisation, which was under the patronage of Her Majesty Indlovukazi, had demonstrated great dedication to its mission despite the challenges it faced. The visit provided an opportunity for Philani Maswati to discuss its work and challenges with the DPM.

The DPM commended Philani Maswati for its perseverance and commitment to its mission, despite financial difficulties. She expressed her appreciation for the organisation’s visit and stated that she would be delighted to meet the elderly residents of Dvokolwako the next week.

Dlamini congratulated Dladla on her appointment and wished her well in her new role. Dlamini provided the DPM with information about the elderly home in Dvokolwako and invited her to visit before the official opening.

As part of the visit, the DPM will be planting a tree, as part of Philani Maswati’s initiative to create a green environment for the residents. Currently, 15 elderly people are living at the home which can accommodate 32 people.

Dlamini said the Biggest Braai to which she invited the DPM was an important source of funding for the organisation.

He further outlined some of the challenges facing the organisation, such as staff shortages, lack of ambulance services, and financial constraints. He noted that volunteers were playing a vital role in supporting the elderly residents.
