MBABANE – Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla is calling upon Members of Parliament (MPs) to work together with her office/ministry, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office (DPMO) so that the vulnerable people in the country can be assisted.
The DPMO is responsible for making sure that vulnerable groups, such as orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC), people with disabilities, among others. Dladla said this today during a consultative meeting, where she met the MPs who are members of the DPMO Portfolio Committee. The meeting took place at Royal Villas in Ezulwini.
“We are here for your service in the communities and I am happy that the officers are committed and active. Each reported case is attended accordingly,” Dladla said. The main objective of the meeting is to orient the Portfolio Committee about the different services offered by the DPMO to the public.
DPMO’s departments include Social Welfare, Disability Unit, Gender Unit and National Children’s Unit. The DPMO Portfolio Committee is chaired by Ndzingeni MP Gcina Magagula. Other Portfolio members include MP Nokuthula Dlamini (Maseyisini), MP Raymond Dlamini (Ntfonjeni), MP Ntando Mkhonta (Zombodze Emuva), MP Nomkhosi Masuku (Ludzeludze), MP Sifiso Shongwe (Kwaluseni), MP Sifiso Nhlengetfwa (Manzini North), MP Wilton Nkambule (Motshane), MP Thulani Nsingwane (Timphisini) and MP Jabulani Simelane (KuMethula).
