Eswatini’s Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Themba Masuku was one of the leaders that showed support by gracing Lesotho where he was in attendance at His Excellency Prime Minister Sam Matekane’s Inauguration. Masuku was representing His Majesty King Mswati lll.

This ceremony took place in the capital city of Lesotho, Maseru, on Friday, October 28, 2022. In the meantime, the Eswatini Head of State did not only grace, but he also actively partook at new Zulu Nation King Misizulu KaZwelithini’s coronation on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa.

In Lesotho, the DPM was among other African leaders including Sotho Royalty King Letsie lll and Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso, South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa as well as Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema, who were also in attendance of this ceremony to show support of the new Prime Minister.

The nation of Lesotho expressed joy upon the arrival of Eswatini’s DPM and the other African leaders as the crowds in attendance cheered upon their arrival at the Setsotso Stadium.

According to an article on the Lesotho Government website, the new Sotho PM vowed to be a true and faithful Prime Minister, emphasising the importance of ensuring implementation of the reforms agenda, and promised to uproot corruption while also carrying forward the Lesotho the people of that country want.
