MBABANE – Civil servants should be less bothered by ‘Janworry’ stress as they will start receiving incontacts on Monday next week.
This comes after government has told banks that January 2024 salaries will be paid from the 15th to the 17th.
The early pay will leave many public workers relieved following that schools will open eight days after they have been salaried. Government believes that the early salary payment will allow civil servants have enough time to prepare for this year’s academic calendar and other needs.
In a letter dated January 8, 2024, the treasury department stated that government employees first batch will be paid on January 15th, while the last batch will be paid on January 17th.
It is worth mentioning that the normal pay date for civil servants is the 20th of each month, while the latest is the last day of the month.
The Treasury Department, which is responsible for paying salaries and other services in the Kingdom of Eswatini, has notified civil servants and relevant stakeholders of the good news of the early pay.
A civil servant, also known as a public servant or public employee, is a person employed in the public sector by a government department.
Last year, civil servants were paid their salaries on January 11 and the last batch got remunerated on the 13th.
